Out of the
Mormon Closet

Mormon Closet Poster.JPG

Synopsis: This autobiographical monologue rollicks through three highly-improbable scenarios of my personal coming out story. There are huge laughs, huge cries, and a trip to the other side of the globe where my mother essentially crucifies me at the gate of the Garden of Gethsemane. While my tale happens within Mormonism (the religion of my family), the themes will ring true for almost anyone.

Themes: Religion, coming out, mothers, sons, LGBT, gay sex, Mormons.

Production considerations: 30~ minute run time. This monologue is intended to be performed by the author, but could be attempted by others, especially those familiar with the difficulties of coming out from a religious family and community. There is no set required.
